    Angela Chao Elected Independent Non-Executive Director of the Bank of China

    On January 4th 2017 Angela Chao was appointed as independent director of the Bank of China. The election took place on November 18th, 2016 during the China Bank's First Extraordinary General Meeting, and the appointment was approved by the China Banking Regulatory Commission. As a Director, Ms. Chao will also serve as a member of the Bank of China's Audit and Risk Policy Committees as well as the Connected Transactions Control Committee.

    Milestone Moment: the "Topping off" of the Ruth Mulan Chu Chao Center

    A jubilant crowd of Chao family members, Harvard Business School leaders and construction company officials came together on April 24, 2015 to “top off” the new Ruth Mulan Chu Chao Center building on the Harvard Business School (HBS) campus. Construction began last year on the four-story, 90,000 square foot executive center, and the traditional “topping off” ceremony denotes that the exterior phase of the building is now complete. The excited guests were in agreement that with the harsh winter experienced in Boston this year, the fact that the building’s construction is on schedule is a testament to the amazing efforts of the engineers and construction workers involved.

Recently, the new Center—the Ruth Mulan Chu Chao Center—passed a milestone in the construction process—the top beam was laid into place.
