The International Leadership Foundation (ILF) will hold its annual awards gala and dinner this year on July 30, 2015. Angela Chao, Deputy Chair of the Foremost Group, will be honored with the ‘Inspirational Leader Award’ in recognition of her leadership and hard work in the fields of charity and business. Regrettably Angela Chao will be unable to attend the Gala, however her sister, The Honorable Elaine L. Chao, will be pleased to accept the award on her behalf.

Each year at its Awards Gala, the ILF recognizes and honors the achievement of outstanding organizations and individuals. Recipients are selected based upon their unique accomplishments in their field of expertise, and for their contributions to the betterment of the Asian American community. In bestowing the Inspirational Leader Award upon Angela Chao, the ILF cited her leadership of the Chao Family Foundations, which has faithfully continued delivering the vision and goals of the organization’s founders; her parents, Dr. James Chao and Mrs. Ruth Mulan Chu Chao. Through the work of the Chao Family Foundations, Mrs. Chao’s dedication to empowering women, especially through education, has been a flame of inspiration and hope for many Asian Pacific Americans across the world. The ILF was especially moved by the Foundation’s generous charitable donations, to institutions such as Harvard Business School, where funded programs and facilities will nurture tomorrow’s Asian Pacific American leaders.

Previous recipients of ILF Gala awards include such notables as former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta, former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N Sichan Siv, Executive Chairman of Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Yoshimi Inaba, and distinguished AIDS researcher David Ho.

The ILF is a non-profit organization whose mission is to develop young Asian Pacific American leaders in the fields of entrepreneurship, international affairs and public service. Founded in 2000, the ILF has provided leadership training and scholarships to more than 1,000 Asian Pacific American college students.
